Question 1: Fans don’t talk, but it is possible to imagine that they do. What is it then, that sounds like the fan’s chatter?
Answer:
In the poet's imagination, the sound of the fan was its chatter. It actually made noise because of friction between its motor parts. It was necessary to oil them.
